James Franklin

James C. Franklin is very active as a choral director and singer throughout Texas. Currently, he serves as the Associate Director of Choral Studies at Sam Houston State University where he directs the Concert Choir and Women’s Chorus, teaches choral methods, and founded the SHSU Early Music Festival. James holds degrees from Baylor University and Westminster Choir College. While at Westminster, he studied conducting with Joseph Flummerfelt and sang with the renowned Westminster Choir. He has sung with ensembles that include Fuma Sacra of New Jersey, Orpheus Chamber Singers, Dallas Bach Society, and Texas Choral Artists. In addition to his academic work, he also directs the chancel choir at First United Methodist Church, Huntsville.
